John Licata is Energy/Digital Innovation Content and Communications Lead for Blue Phoenix. He has over fifteen years of “timely” market insights documented in the global media for north of a decade by Bloomberg, CNBC, Yahoo! Finance, Reuters, TheStreet.com and Fox Business Channel.
John’s unique viewpoints have made him a highly sought out public speaker for viewpoints related to new technologies and innovation influencing energy, batteries, smart cities and the connected home. John was a Keynote Speaker at The United Nations Rio+20 Forum on Electric Vehicles held in Brazil in 2012. He was also a featured guest Panelist at the World Nuclear Association Symposium, Stony Brook University, New York Energy Week, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Saint Peter’s University, and The New York Association for Energy Economics.
Prior to launching Blue Phoenix in 2005, John held research and trading positions at Dow Jones, Salomon Smith Barney, BrokerageAmerica and on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).
John is the author of “Lessons from Frankenstorm: Investing for Future Power Disruptions”, a 2013 Wiley e-book on the future of energy post Sandy. He graduated from Saint Peter’s University with a B.S. in Economics and he received his M.B.A. from the Executive MBA Program at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He also earned a Certification in Cybersecurity from MIT.
